The Torre Agbar, or Agbar Tower, is a 33-story tower at Plaça de les Glòries.

It was designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel in association with the Spanish firm B720 Arquitectos and built by Dragados. It opened in June 2005 and was inaugurated officially by the King of Spain on the 16th of September 2005. The Torre Agbar is located in the Problenou neighborhood of Barcelona and is named after its owners, the Agbar Group, a holding company whose interests include the Barcelona water company.

According to Jean Nouvel, the shape of the Torre Agbar was inspired by Montserrat, a mountain near Barcelona, and by the shape of a geyser rising into the air. Jean Nouvel, in an interview, described it as having a phalic character. As a result of its unusual shape, the building is known by several nicknames, such as "el supositori" (the suppository), "l'obús" (the shell) and some more scatological ones.

It is also somewhat similar in shape to Sir Norman Foster's 30 St. Mary Axe in London, often called "the Gherkin". It has 30,000 m² of above-ground office space, 3,210 m² of technical service floors with installations and 8,351 m² of services, including an auditorium. The Agbar Tower measures 144.4 m in height and consists of 38 floors, including four underground levels.

Plaça de toros monumental was inaugurated in 1914 with the first bullfights in this place. La Monumental, located at a confluence of Gran Via and Marina, gives also its name to a station of the Barcelona Metro network.

The Monumental is a building made of brick, its style is a mixture of Mudéjar (Moors) and Byzantine. It is, at the moment, the unique place of Barcelona where bullfights are celebrated. Besides bullfighting events, the Monumental is often scene of musical events and circus spectacles.

Plaça de toros monumental is one of the most interesting museums related to this activity. It consists of two large rooms and exhibits the branding-irons and emblems of famous stock farms, the heads of famous bulls, a collection of posters from the past, old tickets, the suits of famous bullfighters and rejoneadores (mounted bullfighters), photographs, documents, a library and other objects relating to bullfighting in general, worth seeing.

Although the city of Barcelona is officially ANTI-bullfighting, many aficionados are coming every year to see bullfights in this place. The bullfighting season begins approximately in April and finishes at the end of September. About 20 “Corridas” bullfights are proposed every year.

The Sagrada Família, is a massive, privately-funded Roman Catholic church that has been under construction since 1882 and is not expected to be complete until at least 2026. A portion of the building's interior is scheduled to open for public worship and tours by September of 2011
Considered the master-work of renowned Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926), the project's vast scale and idiosyncratic design have made it one of Barcelona's top tourist attractions for many years.

Every part of the design of La Sagrada Família is rich with Christian symbolism, as Gaudí intended the church to be the "last great sanctuary of the Christianity". Its most striking aspect is its spindle-shaped towers. A total of 18 tall towers are called for, representing in ascending order of height the Twelve Apostles, the Four Evangelists, the Virgin Mary and, tallest of all, Jesus Christ. (According to the 2005 "Works Report" of the temple's official website, drawings signed by Gaudí found recently in the Municipal Archives indicate that the tower of the Virgin was in fact intended by Gaudí to be shorter than those of the evangelists, and this is the design, which the Works Report states is more compatible with the existing foundations, that will be followed.

The same source explains the symbolism in terms of Christ being known through the Evangelists.) The Evangelists' towers will be surmounted by sculptures of their traditional symbols: a bull, a winged man, an eagle, and a lion. The central tower of Jesus Christ is to be surmounted by a giant cross; the tower's total height (170 m) will be one metre less than that of Montjuïc, as Gaudí believed that his work should not surpass that of God. Lower towers are surmounted by communion hosts with sheaves of wheat and chalices with bunches of grapes, representing the Eucharist.

Park Güell is a garden complex with architectural elements situated on the hill of el Carmel in the Gràcia district. It was designed by the architect Antoni Caudí and built in the years 1900 to 1914.

The park was originally part of a commercially unsuccessful housing site, the idea of Count Eusebi Güell, whom the park was named after. It was inspired by the English garden city moevement; hence the original English name Park (in the Catalan language spoken in Catalonia where Barcelona is located, the word for "Park" is "Parc", and the name of the place is "Parc Güell" in its origin language).

The site was a rocky hill with little vegetation and few trees, called Montaña Pelada (Bare Mountain). It already included a large country house called Larrard House or Muntaner de Dalt House, and was next to a neighborhood of upper class houses called La Salud. The intention was to exploit the fresh air (well away from smoky factories) and beautiful views from the site, with sixty triangular lots being provided for luxury houses.

Count Eusebi Güell added to the prestige of the development by moving in 1906 to live in Larrard House. Ultimately, only two houses were built, neither designed by Gaudí. One was intended to be a show house, but on being completed in 1904 was put up for sale, and as no buyers came forward, Gaudí, at Güell's suggestion, bought it with his savings and moved in with his family and his father in 1906..
